How To Make A Clickable Link In An Article or Blog Post. Such a small but vital step in you moving forward.
A clickable link (or link) is a HTML hyperlink which is a word, a group of words, or an image (including banners) that you can click on so you can jump or hop to another page/document or site on the Internet.
HTML means Hyper Text Markup Language.
For an average person using the Internet, you don’t have to know much about using HTML, except only a HTML document/email/post, lets you insert things like links and images.
Same comment for affiliate banners except we will cover banners separately because they are inserted differently, and I don’t want you to get confused.
Here is a Clickbank affiliate link, you can recognize them anywhere. It’s for Free Monthly Websites.
xxxx is your Clickbank affiliate ID. You just insert your ID as you delete the XXXX. If you can’t do it onscreen, just save it to Notepad which is a simple Microsoft HTML editor which I use all the time.
Let’s suppose we are using this link in a WordPress blog post:
Highlight the whole link with your mouse.
Right click on the link, then left click on Copy.
You are composing your blog post at the top of which is the 2-line Task Bar. The line you want is the top line. The symbol you want looks like a doggy bone. Mouse over shows Insert/Edit Link.
Left click on doggy bone and a shadow box appears mid-screen. Delete highlighted http: by pressing DEL key (Not essential but makes sure your URL doesn’t show two http:’s).
Where it asks you for URL: right click then left click on Insert (your link). Shadow box disappears
The affiliate link you inserted now looks blue with a red line under.
When your post is complete, and you View Post. You will see a little hand when you push your mouse near the link.
Great news…your link was inserted correctly!
When your post is published, you should test your link works by left clicking on it.
